Make plans to attend SeniorFest 2008 at Eastfield Community College on Saturday, August 9 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
SeniorFest is a fun-filled day of information and entertainment for seniors. Select from various workshops [2 per person/Session 1-9:15 to 10:30 a.m. and Session 2-11:00 a.m. 12:15 p.m.] in topics ranging from using the computer to understanding digital H(igh)D(ensity)T(ele)V(ision) to belly dancing to landscaping with Texas native plants to much more. Door prizes will be given away and you must be present to win. In between workshops, you will enjoy the 'sweet, pure vocals' of Karol Dyess from the Mesquite City Music Hall. Every paid participant will receive a goodie bag, too.
The cost is $8 per person and includes both a continental-style breakfast as well as lunch. Register NOW as walk-in registrations will NOT be accepted. The deadline to register is AUGUST 1.

FLAPJACK FUNDRAISER!
On Saturday, September 27, 2008, Applebee's of Mesquite will graciously donate 100% of the total breakfast sales between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. to MISD Community Education Scholarship fund.
A $5 donation per person will get you all the pancakes and sausage you want. We will even throw in the beverage of your choice. How's that for a deal?
Simply drop into Applebee's on Saturday, September 27 to enjoy breakfast between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. - it's just $5 a person at the door.
Enjoy breakfast and help out the community at the same time! In addition to offering great classes, MISD Community Education also performs service projects to benefit our community.
