1. Do I have to pre-register? |
Preregistration is required. In order for a class to make, a minimum number of students must be enrolled. Also, because some of our instructors live out of town, it is necessary for them to make travel arrangements. These instructors need to know ahead of time their class enrollments and whether or not a class is going to make. A third reason for preregistration is that select courses require the use of a textbook or other materials. We must know before a class begins how many books to order or how may supply kits to prepare to ensure that every student has the materials required for that class.
Nothing cancels a class quicker than everyone waiting until the last possible minute to register. If you think you are interested in the class, please do register. If you find that you are unable to take the class after all, you can cancel up to three days before the class starts. [Please view the following sections for more information.] If there aren't enough registrations by a certain date, the class will be cancelled!

1. You can register via our website 24/7; this mean you can even wear your pajamas if you wish! Payment is made by either MasterCard or Visa. If you are concerned about web security, have no fear - our website is completely secure!
2. You can always mail your registration to us. The mailing address is MISD Community Education, 405 East Davis Street, Florence Annex, Mesquite, Texas 75149.

3. How and when do I pay for my classes? |
Tuition is payable in full at time of registration or within 5 business days of registration by phone or fax without using a credit card. When registering online, a valid credit card (either MasterCard or Visa) is required. If you are mailing your registration to us, credit card, check, or money order are acceptable forms of payment. We can only accept cash if you are registering in person at our office.
When paying by check, please include your Driver's License number and Date of Birth on the face of the check. There will be a $20 fee on ALL RETURNED CHECKS.
For classes that may required additonal fees, such as textbook or supply fees, students must pay these costs at time of registration, unless it is noted in the course description that fees are to be paid directly to instructor. In that case, student must be prepared to pay said fees at the time of the first class meeting.

4. What happens if a class is cancelled? |
Classes cancelled by MISD Community Education will result in a full refund being issued. If you paid for your class by credit card, a credit will be issued back to the card used. If you paid by check, money order, or cash, a refund check will be issued. You should receive the check by mail within two business weeks.

5. What happens if I can't attend a class? |
A full refund will be issued in the manner described above if we receive your cancellation notice at two business days before the first class meeting, for classes with multiple class days. If you are registered for a one-day class, we must receive your cancellation two business days before the class is held.
Any cancellation request received after two business days will not be eligible for any refund. You may receive credit towards a future class.
Our classes require a minimum enrollment in order to be offered, and our instructor salaries are based on this minimum enrollment amount. If it is necessary to cancel a class, it is extremely important to notify us at least two business days before class date and time. This helps ensure that our class counts are accurate and meets the minimum requirements for a class to make.

6. Will I receive a confirmation of registration? |
As a general rule, we do not offer confirmation of registration. However, if you have given us a valid email address, either by completing that line on the registration form or giving it over the phone, you will receive an emailed confirmation notice automatically. When registering via our website, you will also receive a confirmation email automatically. You may feel free to give us a call or send us an email to ensure that your registration was received.
Please note that we do not release or sell any student information, unless you have given express permission for us to do so (for example, instructor contacting student with supply list). As a general rule, we do not send out mass emails, either. Occasionally, however, we may send marketing emails for upcoming events and/or classes in which you might have an interest.

7. What happens if the class I want is already filled? |
We will notify you that a class has been filled and your name will be placed on a waiting list. As, and when, openings occur, names will be added to the class list in order of placement on the waiting list.
